I’ll say this slowly, because it matters.
How it works with me
Four parts, in the order they happen
First, a conversation
You and I meet. Your place, mine, or the phone. I ask a lot of questions and I write nothing down until you’ve stopped talking. It takes half an hour, or longer if it needs to. It’s free, and you’re not booked until you say so.
Then, the writing
I draft the whole ceremony and send it to you. You read it, and you change anything: a word, a story, the order, all of it. Nothing gets said on the day that you haven’t read first.
The day
I arrive early, before the chairs are set out if I can. I don’t rush and I don’t improvise. I speak slowly enough to be heard at the back, and I carry spare copies in case anyone forgets theirs.
After
The signed words, printed and posted to you within the week. For a wedding, the paperwork goes to Births, Deaths and Marriages, and your certificate comes from them.
Fees
Weddings from $650.
Funerals and memorials $450.
Namings and vow renewals $350.
A first conversation, free, always.
Each fee covers the conversation, the writing, the day, the drive anywhere in Canterbury, and the signed words afterwards. There is nothing extra to add on. And if I’m not the right fit for you I’ll say so and suggest who might be.
