Kōwhai Corner Bakehouse
Baking from three. Bread from half six.
A bakehouse and café on the corner of Mill Road and Sefton Street, Two Rivers. We start at three in the morning so the town can have bread at half past six. The café side does coffee and a cabinet until two.
The board on the counter changes every day, and it’s on our Facebook by seven. This is what we always have.
- White tin loaf
- Wholemeal tin
- The Two Rivers sourdough Baked Wednesday and Saturday.
- Mince and cheese pies, steak pies, a vegetable pie
- Cheese scones
- Custard squares
Prices are on the board. Sold out means sold out; we bake once.
The room at seven
The café side exists because people kept waiting for the bread with nowhere to sit. So now there’s a room. Coffee from seven, the cabinet until it runs out, and the window seat if you’re quick.
Dogs are welcome outside. Cash and card. If the loaf you wanted has gone, it has gone; we bake once, and the next one is tomorrow.
